Recently I was asked by my dear Friend Ryan McMahon to do Album Art for his recent self-produced EP Song Shelter Recordings. I've known Ryan for years and his extended family and the similarities that exist between our grand folks is eerie especially when it comes to the stylized decor. So this was so wonderful to walk around and snap these pics in a house where he spent a lot of his youth. We're both '79 babies and there is always comfort in the familiar. I love how an object can evoke a memory a feeling a point in time a loving memory and so much of this day was exactly that! Read More

I've been working hard at this you see, just getting her to allow me turn the other way in the bed. Now I am free. Free to snuggle up to the warm glow of my phone and jot down these thoughts. I am free to imagine that something I say could resonate with another mom out there who is also finding sweet respite from the day in the tiny screen cradled in her hand. I'm free to binge on Netflix and pin vegan recipes. Ah sweet 10pm Monday night freedom! Read More

These particular buildings are located in the Kansas City Jazz District. A neighbourhood that looks like it's growing into something new. Half a block looked like a fire erupted recently, gutting the insides and scorching the stone of these old European style relics. Read More
