Well we're Island folk now, so we don't go across the Strait to often and its where we met and lived together before becoming parents. It's funny, when we first moved to the island, within weeks we were saying, we're living in a place we go to holiday. And now after two years of living on the Island the feeling is the exact same about Vancouver now. It's a place we would go for a holiday. It was a very odd feeling, to feel like a foreigner somewhere you've established deep roots in, my wife offered me that insight and it instantly hit me and in a fantastic way. It sparked a new found sense if adventure in a place so familiar. So Vancouver has certainly become special again and in a different way!.
We had three main things to do, one was to take our little pumpkin for a stroll downtown and she absolutely had the time of her life! Did not skip a beat, we have never brought her to a big city at this stage in her evolution, so we didn't know what to expect. Needless to say she enjoys the city life.
Next up, visit, stay with and go watch a friend of my mine sing some songs! I had the pleasure of producing a record with Kellen and we've been friends ever since. They recently celebrated their first lil one and its such a joy to see them grow. Especially after a good chunk of time. I will easily turn into the old fella saying I remember when you were this big. Their little babe is a firecracker with a lovely demeanour!
Our last stop on our two day adventure was ikea, of course, there isn't one on the island! You just can't beat the price and style. Pretty fun running after our little lady, she's really begun to play games and its adorable. We were all pretty exhausted by the end and as always hopping back on to the Rock, a cool flood of serene washes over me each time. Love the west coast, such an amazing place to live!
